Frequently Asked Questions
Is this vitamin gluten and casein free?
Yes, Super Spectrum Kids is free from gluten, casein, soy, GMO’s, milk and milk derivatives, added sugar, artificial colors and flavors, and preservatives. In other words, just the good stuff!
Does this supplement come in a capsule/pill?
Due to the fact that many children on the spectrum have sensory issues and/or trouble swallowing, we designed Super Spectrum Kids Multivitamin/Mineral to be in an unflavored, dissolvable powder form, so it can be easily mixed in water or your child’s favorite drink. It can even be added to a soft serve food like yogurt, pudding, or purees.
How does Super Spectrum Kids Vitamins taste?
We formulated Super Spectrum Kids Multivitamin/Mineral to be unflavored and easily mixed in water or your child’s favorite drink. Due to the nature of ingredients, it may have a slight “vitamin” taste, but the mild taste is easily masked by juice or diluted in water. You can even mix it in a smoothie, yogurt, or similar food as well.
How long will it take before I see improvements in my child’s symptoms?
Since every child has his/her own unique biochemistry, this can be a difficult question to answer. Depending on if and what deficiencies your child may have, repleting them can have so many positive results from immediately to over several weeks of consistent intake. It all really depends on each individual. Our goal was to design a supplement to help fill the nutritional gaps that many children on the spectrum are experiencing.
How many servings are in each bottle?
Super Spectrum Kids Multivitamin/Mineral supplement has 30 servings based on a 60-90lb child. If your child weighs less than 60lbs, it will have more servings: if your child is more than 90lbs, it will have less. Please see dosage chart for more information.
What is the serving size?
Our serving size is based on weight and measures as follows:
30-60lb take ¼ teaspoon 2 times per day with food
61-90lb take ½ teaspoon 2 times per day with food
91-120lb take 1 teaspoon 2 times per day with food
Why does it say to take with food?
Some of our kiddos have sensitive tummies and taking supplements with meals helps prevent upset stomach. It is not mandatory to take with food, just suggested. If your child does not experience an upset stomach then it is just fine for them to take without food.
Do we have to split the serving into 2 doses or can we just take once per day?
For best results, and decreased chance of stomach upset, the preferred dosing is to take in 2 doses, but we understand it can be challenging to split the dose and it can be taken in one dose if this is the only option of getting it in.
How do I know if my child needs to take a supplement?
Super Spectrum Kids Multivitamin/Mineral was formulated based on scientific research and clinical trials that show common nutrient deficiencies in children with ASD. We designed our supplement to ensure that your child is getting adequate amounts of nutrients to help promote optimal health and development. However, our supplement is not intended to treat, diagnose, prevent, or cure disease. If you have any concerns, please consult your physician.
Why does my child’s urine look bright yellow after taking his vitamins?
It is common for urine to be a brighter yellow color when taking Super Spectrum Kids due to the B vitamins. In particular, vitamin B2- Riboflavin, (the “flavin” portion comes from the Latin word “flavus” meaning “yellow”.) If it is extremely bright, this could indicate your child is not drinking enough water. Drinking plenty of water can dilute this bright color if it is bothersome.
